As part of Foster Care Fortnight, Fostering Services have recognised and awarded foster carers who have provided over twenty years of care to vulnerable children in Cardiff.
Service Manager, Debbie Martin-Jones said ‘The Council wanted to take the opportunity during Foster care Fortnight, to celebrate the commitment of over 20 of our foster carers who have delivered such a high standard of care to 100’s of children for more than twenty years – some for as long as 36 years. We are committed to providing the highest standard of care to our looked after children and so it is important to us to show just how much we value to fantastic contribution made by our carers.’
Foster Carer, Gina Cooper who was recognised for her long service said ‘I have been a foster carer for over twenty five years and although it has been challenging, it has honestly been the most rewarding career I could have ever asked for. I have been able to choose what is right for me and my family over the years.’
We have vacancies for foster carers who can work alongside our team of professionals in providing children with care, love, warmth and positive home life experiences.
