The Cardiff Council Fostering Team has been overwhelmed by the amazing response to their request for colleagues across the Council to join the Cardiff Half Marathon and run on behalf of the service.
The team has now hit 100 which will be the largest corporate group to run in this year’s Half Marathon.
The running team includes young people who have experienced foster care, foster carers, social workers as well as staff from all across the council. The leader has also got involved and will be running to show his support for the Fostering Service.
Our runners will be wearing bright orange shirts, the service’s associated brand colour to draw attention to our commitment in supporting our foster carers and determination to recruit more carers for our 700+ looked after children.
Debbie Martin-Jones, Specialists Service OM said ‘we want to show anyone considering joining our service that they will be highly valued and supported by the whole Council.’
The Cardiff Half Marathon is taking place Sunday, 1st October at 10am. Come along in orange and cheer on our team as they take off through the Castle gates!
